Sarkisian, Fadei Tachatovich
Born Sept. 18, 1923, in Yerevan. Soviet state figure. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR (1977). Member of the CPSU since 1945. The son of an office worker, Sarkisian graduated from the S. M. Budennyi Leningrad Military Academy of Communications in 1945 as a radio engineer. He worked for the Ministry of Defense of the USSR from 1946 to 1963. From 1963 to 1977 he was director of the Yerevan Scientific Research Institute of Mathematical Machines. He became chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR in 1977. A deputy to the tenth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Sarkisian became a member of the Central Auditing Commission of the CPSU in 1981. Sarkisian received the State Prize of the USSR in 1971 and has been awarded the Order of the October Revolution, two other orders, and various medals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
