(Soviet Uzbekistan), an Uzbek-language daily newspaper of the Uzbek SSR with republic-wide circulation. Founded in 1918, it was originally called Ishtrakiyun (Communist); after several changes of name, the newspaper acquired its present name in 1964. It is published in Tashkent. Circulation, 683,000 (1975). The newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1958.
