Sawyer, Diane (1945– ) journalist, television correspondent/anchor; born in Glasgow, Ky. (married to Mike Nichols). Hired as ABC WLKY-TV's weathergirl in 1967, she then became a reporter in Louisville, Ky. Coming to Washington as a Nixon press aide in 1970, she stayed on after Watergate to help with Nixon's memoirs. A CBS news reporter (1978–81), she cohosted the Morning News with Charles Kuralt (1981–84), then became the first woman correspondent on 60 Minutes (1984–89).
