Schmidt, (Michael Jack) Mike (1949– ) baseball player; born in Dayton, Ohio. During his 18-year career as a third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies (1972–89), he hit 548 home runs and won the league Most Valuable Player Award three times (1980–81, 1986).
