Schorr, Daniel (Louis) (1916–  ) broadcast journalist; born in New York City. He started writing for newspapers in high school; by 1941 he was New York news editor for the Netherlands News Agency, rejoining them in Holland after his army service (1943–45). Recruited by Edward R. Murrow in 1953, he was CBS News diplomatic correspondent until the late 1960s when he began covering American politics. A hard-nosed reporter, he won three Emmys for his Watergate coverage and earned the wrath of several presidents. After leaking a Congressional report on illegal Central Intelligence Agency and FBI operations, he was suspended by CBS News and resigned in 1976. He went on to do commentary for National Public Radio.
