Schrödinger wave function [′shrād·iŋ·ər ′wāv ‚fəŋk·shən]
(quantum mechanics) A function of the coordinates of the particles of a system and of time which is a solution of the Schrödinger equation and which determines the average result of every conceivable experiment on the system.
