Schultz, Adolph H.

    0.01 sec.
Schultz, Adolph H. (Hans) (1891–1976) physical anthropologist; born a citizen of Switzerland, in Stuttgart, Germany. He came to the U.S.A. to teach at the Carnegie Institution (1916–25), then became a professor at Johns Hopkins (1925–51) before going to the University of Zurich (1951–62). His research in human prenatal growth indicated that racial variations and individual differences are demonstrable in fetuses. His award-winning comparative studies on monkeys and apes (1948) showed that similarities in early developmental stages decrease with age due to differing growth rates.
