Schur-Cohn test [′shür ′kōn ‚test] (mathematics) A test to determine whether all the coefficients of a polynomial have magnitude less than one; the polynomial has this property only if each of a series of determinants formed from the coefficients of the polynomial in a specified manner is positive for determinants of even degree and negative for determinants of odd degree.
