Schuyler, Montgomery (1843–1914) journalist, architectural critic; born in Ithaca, N.Y. He helped found the Architectural Record (1891). An authoritative architectural journalist writing for the New York World and New York Times (1883–1907), he promoted modernism as embodied in skyscrapers.
