(company)Scientific Data Systems - (SDS) The company that produced the SDS 940 (later renamed XDS 940). Around 1968 Xerox bought out SDS and renamed the SDS machines to XDS.

A native of Chicago and the son of immigrants, Braude was a professor of social sciences at the University of Chicago before founding Scientific Data Systems, a company that was later bought out by Xerox Corp.
Clausen in Casabella in 1999: Ellwood's colleague James Tyler is now credited as its principal designer along with architect-of-record for its 1989 extension); his three CSH Houses, 16, 17, 18, 1952-58; and Scientific Data Systems facilities in the late 1960s.
Previous to joining Peerless, Gavaldon had spent more than 20 years at Scientific Data Systems Co.
