Scolotes
the name the Scythians of the Black Sea coast called themselves. The term “Scolotes” appears in the work of the Greek historian Herodotus (fifth century B.C.). Some scholars, including S. A. Zhebelev, have suggested that the term applied only to those Scythians who tilled the soil. REFERENCESSee references under Scythians. How to thank TFD for its existence?
