Scott, Charlotte Angas (1858–1931) mathematician; born in Lincoln, England. Emigrating to America to head the mathematics department at Bryn Mawr College (1885), she was editor of the American edition of Arithmetic for Schools, author of An Introductory Account of Certain Modern Ideas and Methods in Plane Analytical Geometry (1894), and other texts.
