Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park Location: 1 mile west of North Platte. Facilities: Museum. Special Features: Colonel William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody (1846-1917) built his North Platte home during the heyday of his famous Wild West Show. Cody owned some 4,000 acres here, named Scout's Rest Ranch. The park includes the house and barn, which have been restored, as well as a wealth of Cody memorabilia.
