A device for connecting two cables without using plugs in which bare wires from one cable are connected to lugs of screws on one side of the strip and wires from the other cable are attached at corresponding points on the opposite side.

Multiple units of any I/O type can be easily daisy chained together using convenient RJ-45 pass-through connectors or screw terminals.
The connection to the DeviceNet network is made through a pluggable 5 pin screw terminal connector (Combicon style) or by an optional HE13 male 2x5 pin connector (for remote connection using ribbon cable).
Additional hardened features include a conformal coated circuit board to ensure protection from moisture and corrosion along roadways, and a screw terminal power block for durable power connectivity.
