Seattle Slew

Seattle Slew

(foaled 1974) U.S. Thoroughbred racehorse. He was the first unbeaten racer ever to win the Triple Crown (1977). In his racing career of 17 races, he won 14, was second twice, and fourth once. He was retired to stud in 1978.

I've seen some of the best years of US racing with the likes of Secretariat, Forego, Seattle Slew, Affirmed, Spectacular Bid, Ruffian and now, years later, Rachel Alexandra.
This three-year- old colt is by top American sire Seattle Slew out of the mare Tamise, who was a Group Three winner in France for Andre Fabre.
Flute, a Seattle Slew filly whose second-place finish to Golden Ballet in the Santa Anita Oaks came in only her third career start, rallied with jockey Jerry Bailey to beat Real Cozzy by 2 3/4 lengths and paid $8.
