Sectorial Standard

a type of production standard in the USSR. Sectorial standards are set for output that is not subject to state standards, for production equipment and tools, and for the production norms and standard processes that are unique to the sector. Such standards also apply to all norms, rules, requirements, terms, and designations deemed essential to effective coordination among the enterprises and organizations of the sector. Sectorial standards are compulsory for all enterprises and organizations of the given sector, and also for the enterprises and organizations of other sectors that require the output of the sector. Sectorial standards are approved by the appropriate ministry or department.
