Selenniakh Range
a mountain range in the northeastern Yakut ASSR. The Selenniakh Range is approximately 240 km long, with elevations to 1,461 m. It is composed of gneisses, schists, crystalline limestones, sandstones, and aleurolites with granite intrusions. Larch forests grow in the river valleys; above 600 m there is a narrow strip of alder thickets and dwarf stone pine, which gives way to mountain tundra. There are deposits of tin at Deputatskii settlement and cinnabar at Iubileinyi settlement, as well as deposits of tungsten, gold, and brown coal. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
