semitrailer
a type of trailer or articulated lorry that has wheels only at the rear, the front end being supported by the towing vehicle

semitrailer [¦sem·i′trāl·ər]
(engineering)
A cargo-carrying piece of equipment that has one or two axles at the rear; the load is carried on these axles and on the fifth wheel of the tractor that supplies motive power to the semitrailer.

Semitrailer 

a non-self-propelled transport vehicle with closed body or with a platform with hinged sideboards. The framework of a semitrailer is supported in front by the hitch bar of a truck tractor and in the rear by one or two axles with wheels. The hitch bar permits a swinging motion of the semitrailer both on the longitudinal and transverse axes.
