Serafimovich 

(until 1933, the stanitsa [large cossack village] of Ust’-Medveditskaia), a city and administrative center of Serafimovich Raion, Volgograd Oblast, RSFSR. Serafimovich is a landing on the right bank of the Don, 84 km southwest of the Sebriakovo railroad station, on the Povorino-Volgograd line. The city has a butter factory. A technicum for mechanized agriculture is in Serafimovich. The literary and memorial museum of A. S. Serafimovich, who lived in the city from 1874 to 1883 and from 1890 to 1892, is also located there.
