2. a similar twilled cotton, silk, or rayon fabric
serge [sərj]

Twill weave with the diagonal prominent on both sides of the cloth.
Serge 

a twilled fabric of natural or synthetic fibers. Serge, which is usually uniformly dyed or printed, is used for linings, dresses, and various industrial fabrics.
