Sergei Vsevolodovich Iablonskii

Iablonskii, Sergei Vsevolodovich 

Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Moscow. Soviet mathematician. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1953.

Iablonskii graduated from Moscow State University in 1950 and became a professor there in 1963. In 1953 he joined the staff of the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Iablonskii has specialized in discrete mathematics and mathematical problems of cybernetics. His principal works deal with general problems of the theory of control systems, functional systems and operations, the monitoring and reliability of control systems, and algorithmic difficulties in designing control systems.

Iablonskii received the Lenin Prize in 1966 and has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the Patriotic War Second Class, three other orders, and various medals.
