Parmenas (pär`mĕnəs), in the New Testament, one of the seven deacons. He is said to have died a martyr at Philippi.

Aa Deacon Philip, if I remember correctly, was one of the Seven Deacons appointed by the Apostles.
Five chapters later the apostles charge the community with choosing seven deacons, who, when presented, are confirmed by the apostles without question.
