Shaw, Ralph Robert (1907–72) librarian, educator; born in Detroit, Mich. He served as U.S. Department of Agriculture librarian (1940–54) and founded the Scarecrow Press, publishers of reference and bibliographic materials. His American Bibliography indexed 50,000 items published between 1801 and 1819.
