Shaw, Robert (Lawson) (1916– ) conductor; born in Red Bluff, Calif. Having found fame with his vocal choruses in the 1940s and 1950s, he took up instrumental conducting and from 1967 led the Atlanta Symphony, bringing that orchestra to prominence.
