Location: Northwestern corner of Nevada. Facilities: Visitor contact station, viewing sites, campsites, trails, auto tour route, historic features. Activities: Canoeing, fishing, ice fishing, horseback riding, hunting, camping, rock hounding. Special Features: Refuge contains the remains of old homesteads and ranches; fire opals draw miners and rock collectors, and geothermal hot springs create an oasis in the heart of the refuge. Habitats: More than 500,000 acres waterfalls, narrow gorges, springs, and tablelands of sagebrush and mountain mahogany.Elevations range from 4,500 to 7,600 feet. Access: Open 24 hours.
