Shirpotreb Chernaia
a variety of cherry developed by I. V. Michurin by crossing the Iubileinaia variety of sour cherry with the Pervenets variety of sweet cherry. The cherries are medium-sized, turnip-shaped, dark red, and shiny. The flesh is juicy, sweet, slightly acidic, and pleasant to the taste. The fruits ripen in mid-July but do not drop from the tree immediately. The cherries are eaten fresh or processed into jam, juice, or syrup. The trees have average growing vigor; the elongate spherical crowns are well developed. Fruit formation begins in the second year. The annual fruit yield from one tree is 5–10 kg. The Shirpo-treb Chernaia variety is grown in the central zone of the RSFSR. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
