Location: Off US 101, 13 miles southwest of Coos Bay.
Facilities: Picnic area, trails, beach access, observation shelter, gift shop, restrooms, gardens (é).
Activities: Hiking, wildlife viewing.
Special Features: Once the grand estate of pioneer timber baron Louis Simpson, Shore Acres features a formal garden, an oriental pond, and 2 rose gardens. A trail leads to a secluded ocean cove; the cliff's edge affords spectacular ocean vistas and views of migrating grey whales.
