Born Mar. 14 (27), 1914, in the village of Chernavsk, Elets District, Orel Province; died Apr. 11,1951, in Moscow. Soviet Russian poet.

The son of an artisan, Shubin graduated from the A. I. Herzen Leningrad Pedagogical Institute in 1938.
