Shustov, Smaragd Loginovich
Born 1789; died Apr. 17 (29), 1870, in St. Petersburg. Russian architect. Shustov graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1810. Beginning in 1827 he worked for a department of the Board of St. Petersburg Imperial Theaters. He built primarily in St. Petersburg and in its suburbs and nearby districts. Shustov built several buildings in the finest traditions of classicism, including the wooden Kamennoostrovskii Theater (1827; rebuilt 1844 by A. K.
