Sibo
(self-designations Sibo, Sibe, and Sibo Manchu), a people living in China, mainly in the northwest of the Sinkiang Ui-ghur Autonomous Region and partly in the provinces of Liaoning and Chilin. The Sibo number approximately 19,000 (1953 census). In origin and culture they are related to the Manchus. Their language is a dialect of Manchurian and their writing system is Manchurian. The Sibo practice shamanism. Their chief occupation is agriculture; other occupations are livestock breeding and fishing. REFERENCENarody Vostochnoi Azii.
