Sidewalk Labs

A Google company devoted to urban improvement. Its first major project is sponsoring the Intersection organization (merger of Titan and Control Group) to build LinkNYC. Along with Qualcomm and Comark, LinkNYC is replacing more than 7,000 public pay telephones in New York with kiosks that provide Android tablet access to the Internet, free Wi-Fi within the vicinity and free voice calling. LinkNYC will be the world's largest municipal Wi-Fi network. See Muni Wi-Fi.
