Siebert, Muriel (?1930– ) stockbroker, educator; born in Cleveland, Ohio. After three years at Western Reserve University (now Case Western), she joined Bache & Co., in 1954 and moved on to several other investment houses before buying her own seat on the New York Stock Exchange in 1967, thereby becoming its first woman member. She established her own firm, Muriel Siebert & Co., in 1969. After a term as New York State superintendent of banks (1977–82), she ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Republican Senate nomination.
