Baltramaitis, Silvestras 

Born Oct. 21, 1841, in Mankiškiai, now in Radviliškis Raion, Lithuanian SSR; died approximately 1918, in Petrograd. Lithuanian bibliographer and ethnographer.

In 1869, Baltramaitis joined the St. Petersburg Public Library, where he worked for approximately 50 years, engaged in the preparation of bibliographical publications. His chief work was Collection of Bibliographical Materials for Geography, History, History of Law, Statistics, and Ethnography of Lithuania (1904, with an appended list of Lithuanian and Old Prussian books published from 1533 through 1903).
