Simple File Sharing

    0.01 sec.
Simple File Sharing
A Windows XP file management option that does not allow file sharing to be configured on a user-by-user basis. If a folder or file is made sharable, everyone on the network has access to it. When Simple File Sharing (SFS) is disabled, individual user configuration is available. Starting with Windows Vista, Simple File Sharing is called "Password Protected Sharing," but has the reverse orientation as follows:

Windows XP Simple File Sharing (on/enabled)
Windows Vista Password Protected Sharing (off)

Windows XP Simple File Sharing (off/disabled)
Windows Vista Password Protected Sharing (on)
