Sioni 

(before 1976, Sionmsheni), an urban-type settlement in Tianeti Raion, Georgian SSR, located 80 km northeast of Tbilisi. The settlement was founded in 1951 in connection with the construction on the Iori River of the Sion Reservoir, which is part of the Samgori irrigation system. Sioni became a settlement in 1960. It has a fruit winery, a branch of the Tbilpribor factory, and a museum of local lore. The settlement, a recreation area for the inhabitants of Tbilisi, has a tourist center. [23–1326–]
