Slánský, Rudolf
Born July 31, 1901, in Nezvĕstice; died Dec. 3, 1952, in Prague. Figure in the labor movement in Czechoslovakia. Slánský joined the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPC) in 1921 and became a member of the Central Committee in 1929. From 1939 to 1944 he was part of the CPC leadership, which was then in Moscow. In 1944, along with a group of communists, including J. Šverma, he was sent by the leadership of the CPC to Slovakia to take part in the Slovak National Uprising of 1944.
