Slaviansk-Na-Kubani
a city (until 1958, the stanitsa [large cossack village] of Slavianskaia) under krai jurisdiction, administrative center of Slaviansk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. Situated on the Protoka River (a branch of the Kuban’ River). Landing; railroad station (Protoka) on the Timash-evsk-Krymsk line. Center of a network of highways. Population, 56,000 (1975). The food-processing industry is represented by a cannery, winery, milk and cheese plant, and a plant for processing rice and groats. There are also poultry and food-processing combines. In addition to the Remstroidormash Plant, which repairs road-building equipment, Slaviansk-na-Kubani has a garment factory, a packaging plant, a building-materials plant, and a plant specializing in mechanical repairs.
