Slingbox A device from Sling Media, San Mateo, CA (www.slingmedia.com) that lets people watch TV on their computer, cellphone or PDA. It transmits the TV video source from a camera, cable or satellite set-top box or digital video recorder (DVR), such as a TiVo, to the Internet. Any computer attached to the Internet or any smartphone running under Windows Mobile, Palm or Symbian can receive the redirected material.Slingbox AV, SOLO and PRO The basic Slingbox AV has one input for one TV source and supports SDTV (standard definition). Slingbox SOLO and PRO support SDTV and HDTV (high definition), but Slingbox PRO has inputs for four TV sources. See SDTV and HDTV. SlingPlayer in the Receiving Device In order to receive the Slingbox's redirected video from the Internet, Windows and Mac computers must install the SlingPlayer client software.
