Smith, Edgar Fahs (1854–1928) chemist, educator; born in York, Pa. Affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania for most of his career (1888–1920), he did research on methods of electrochemical analysis, atomic weight determinations, and compounds of rare metals, including tungsten and molybdenum.
