Smith Rock State Park

Location: Off US 97, 9 miles northeast of Redmond.
Facilities: Walk-in bivouac camp, picnic area, hiking trails, interpretive exhibits, restrooms (é).
Activities: Camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, wildlife viewing.
Special Features: Recognized as having some of the most colorful and spectacular geological formations in Oregon, park is an international mecca for rock climbers. The park and surrounding federal land offer thousands of climbs, including more than than a thousand bolted routes, some of which are rated among the most difficult in the world.
