Snow Canyon State Park Location: 8 miles north of Saint George on Hwy 18. Facilities: 29 campsites, group camp, electrical hookups, showers, modern restrooms (é), picnic areas, group pavilion, hiking trails, bike trails, bridle trails, visitor center. Activities: Camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, wildlife observation. Special Features: A remote desert park in southern Utah, Snow Canyon's spectacular landscape includes a rugged mix of red rock, black lava rock, and serpentine sandy washes. The canyon is named for Mormon pioneers Lorenzo and Erastus Snow--not for its winters, which are usually quite mild.
