Snowdon, Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of, 1930–, British photographer. Educated at Eton and Cambridge, he married Princess Margaret Margaret, 1930–2002, British princess, second daughter of King George VI and sister of Queen Elizabeth II , b. Glamis, Scotland. In 1960 she married a commoner, the photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, who was created earl of Snowdon in 1961. ..... Although his reputation as a photographer was based originally on his informal pictures of famous people, he has recently received acclaim for sensitive photographs of the handicapped and underprivileged.
