sodium bisulfate [′sōd·ē·əm bī′səl‚fāt]
(inorganic chemistry)
NaHSO4Colorless crystals, soluble in water; the aqueous solution is strongly acidic; decomposes at 315°C; used for flux to decompose minerals, as a disinfectant, and in dyeing and manufacture of magnesia, cements, perfumes, brick, and glue. Also known as niter cake; sodium acid sulfate.
