App-V
(APPlication-Virtualization) Application streaming software from Microsoft that delivers applications to Windows desktops without installing them. Officially "Microsoft Application Virtualization," App-V was formerly SoftGrid from Softricity, which Microsoft acquired in 2006.

The server side, which hosts the applications, runs Microsoft Systems Center Virtual Application Server (SoftGrid Application Server), and the client side, which requests and receives the application, runs Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization for Desktops. See application streaming.
