Sioux City, Iowa, purchases the assets and businesses of the ag products division (Sohigro) of Sohio Chemical Co.
This was eventually merged with the US oil company Sohio, although that required years of patient negotiation with the US justice department.
By 1978 British Petroleum, a giant in its own right, had a majority interest in Sohio and took it over.
