Sonsonate

Sonsonate (sōnsōnä`tā), city (1993 pop. 46,101), capital of Sonsonate dept., SW El Salvador. It is the commercial center of a rich agricultural region, where cacao, coffee, sugar, tobacco, Peruvian balsam, and subsistence crops are produced. The city was founded in 1524 by the Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado Alvarado, Pedro de , 1486–1541, Spanish conquistador. He went to Hispaniola (1510), sailed in the expedition (1518) of Juan de Grijalva, and was the chief lieutenant of Hernán Cortés in the conquest of Mexico.

Sonsonate 

a city in El Salvador; capital of the department of Sonsonate. Population, 49,000 (1972). Sonsonate has a railroad station. It is the center of the country’s major cattle-breeding region. It has enterprises for the production of foodstuffs, leather, and tobacco goods and the processing of balsam of Peru. Sonsonate was founded in 1524.

There are four major cities: San Salvador, San Miguel, Santa Ana and Sonsonate.
It's an agronomist, a biologist and a former banker guided by three farmers that are part of Coop Las Lajas, a large cooperative in El Salvador's Sonsonate region.
Nieto said that, in the remaining months of this year, three projects estimated to remove another 5,000 kids from dangerous work would be started in Sonsonate, San Vicente, and North San Salvador; all are located in sugar cane areas.
