Sosnitsa

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Sosnitsa Raion, Chernigov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located 18 km from the Mena railroad station on the Gomel’-Bakhmach line. Sosnitsa has a cheese plant, a brickyard, a bread-baking combine, a food-processing combine, and a factory for the production of clothing and accessories. The settlement also has an agricultural accounting technicum, a museum of local lore, and a literary memorial museum in honor of A. P. Dovzhenko, who was born in Sosnitsa.
