Sotsialisticheskaia Iakutiia
(Socialist Yakutia), a republic-wide Russian-language newspaper of the Yakut ASSR. Published since March 1917, Sotsialisticheskaia Iakutiia was founded by the Bolsheviks E. M. Iaroslavskii and G. I. Petrovskii, who were then in exile in Yakutia. The newspaper was originally called Sotsial-demokrat (Social Democrat). It was renamed a number of times and received its present name in July 1932. It is published six times a week in Yakutsk. Circulation, 61,000 (1975). Sotsialisticheskaia Iakutiia was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1967.
