A format for audio samples from E-MU Systems, Inc., Scotts Valley, CA (www.emu.com). SoundFont provides a common format so that musicians can exchange keyboard sounds. It enhances the .WAV audio format with extensions that allow, for example, a heavy key depression to produce a different sound than a light one.
