South Galactic Pole
one of the two points of intersection of the celestial sphere with a line perpendicular to the plane of the galactic equator and passing through the center of the sphere. Located in the southern sky, in the constellation Sculptor, the south galactic pole has the following approximate equatorial coordinates: right ascension α = 0h49 min; declination δ = −27.4°.
